Tony Brown has successfully translated his passion and unwavering devotion for results-driven training into a career that not only changes bodies it enhances lives. He is an industry leader that is routinely called upon to consult with investment firms on the trends of the (fitness) industry and the companies that inhabit that space. Tony Brown is an athlete driven by his own personal pursuit for excellence and the fullest expression of his potential. From being a college scholarship athlete to a two time state Olympic weightlifting champion he has continued to demonstrate his understanding of the the human body and ability (mind, spirit). Tony received his BS in Kinesiology-Exercise Science from California State University in Sacramento. After graduating, he moved to NYC to begin working with the prestigious Equinox Fitness Clubs. Tony was quickly recognized as a standout amongst his peers. His mastery of effective programming matched with his ability to teach made him the perfect candidate for the management fast track. tony would continue on with Equinox for seven years. He was promoted seven times and ended his seven year career with Equinox as the Regional Fitness Manager (for Southern California). During his career with Equinox he hired and trained countless personal trainers from New York to California. Tony ran Equinox’s E.F.T.I. (Equinox Fitness Training Institute) in California where he taught Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Motor Learning and Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Program design to hundreds of Personal Trainers. He was also responsible for certifying and managing Master Instructors to teach the EFTI curriculum for each individual club in California, eleven in total. In 2009, Tony made the decision to leave his success at Equinox Fitness Clubs to focus his energy and talents on creating his own private training company, Brown Built Performance. His dedication to science based training has enabled him to elicit results that clients never thought possible. Tony has had the privilege to share his passion not only as a coach but also as a consultant. His work with The Gerson Lehrman Group has improved the member experience, diversified and generated additional revenue, while improving the overall quality of the respective training programs for both small boutique programs, as well as, large corporate fitness clubs. is ease and understanding of the human body has not gone unnoticed by the media. Tony’s commentary on the effectiveness of kettlebells can be found in Time-Out Magazine and his “Beat The Heat” workout was featured in Shape Magazine. Based on the success of that workout, he was asked to be Shape Magazine’s “fitness expert” for six additional issues where he shared tips and quotes on the latest fitness and weight loss trends. He looks forward to more opportunities to collaborate with fitness experts, publication and facilities nation wide. Currently, Tony expertly splits his days and skill-set between a sports performance facility and physical therapy facility. Velocity Sports Performance provides him with state-of-the-art equipment designed to meet the needs of professional and elite athletes. In this arena, Tony is able to craft creative and rigorous training programs that push his clients towards their physical full potential. At Fabrizio Physical Therapy Tony is able to utilize his post-rehabilitation certification to enhance the care of the physical therapists.  Tony focuses on creating programs that enable  his clients to reach a fully functional lifestyle and in most cases a pre-injury level of activity.
